District news
Voters asked for a $37 million bond for school repairs on November 3

What happened
The board put a bond question on the November 3, 2026 ballot asking to borrow up to $37 million, with repayment cost up to $67 million, for critical building needs. The district says it would not add a new tax: it would extend the taxes voters approved in 2007 (up to $2.7 million a year) to pay the new debt. Most school buildings other than Craig Middle School are 40 to 70 years old. A 2021 bond was rejected by voters.
Why it matters to families
The repairs list is larger than $37 million, so the district will have to pick and choose. If voters say no, old buildings keep aging while the district's savings are low.
The evidence
The sample ballot language and the district's bond page are official records. The election result is not in the collected record.
