What happened

On October 13, 2026, the business administrator reported 58 fewer students (1.9%) on the official October 1 count. Mountain Green schools lost about 98 students while Morgan-area schools gained about 50. He said a boundary conversation is likely if the trend continues, and that 152 students living in the county now use state-funded home school programs.

Why it matters to families

Falling enrollment drives staffing cuts, and a boundary change could move some families to a different school.
