Committee formally opposes a biosolids plant and an asphalt facility near school fields
What happened
On March 31, 2026 the School Committee unanimously approved a resolution about the proposed Quonset Soil Solutions biosolids operation at Quonset, amended to note that students regularly use fields inside the Quonset Business Park for school sports. On April 7, 2026 it unanimously approved a second resolution on the proposed Bitumar asphalt facility. A resident told the committee she was relieved it was taking the matter seriously.
