What happened

On Oct. 20, 2026, the board voted 7-0 to adopt the 2027 operating budget, levy and rates, the 2027 capital projects plan and the bus replacement plan. The budget notice lists $11,925,050 in total budget estimates and up to $4,213,792 to be raised from property taxes, compared with a current levy of $3,573,048. The debt service fund's maximum levy is $1,757,919, up 39.94% from $1,256,187.

Why it matters to families

The property tax levy is what local taxpayers pay. The biggest increase is in the debt service fund, which repays borrowing.
