Public comment rules changed
What happened
The board changed its public participation policy (01.421) in May and June 2026. People no longer have to submit topics not on the agenda 5 days ahead. The board will not act on an unlisted item at the same meeting except in an emergency, and at special called meetings people may comment only on agenda items.
Why it matters to families
This changes how residents can raise issues with the board. It is easier to speak at regular meetings, but comments at special meetings are limited to what is on the agenda.
The evidence
The approved May 19, 2026 minutes describe the first reading (Order #26-198), and the June 16, 2026 minutes record the second reading (Order #26-213) removing the 5-day requirement.
