What happened

On August 4, 2026 the board adopted regulation KLG-R 5-0. It follows a Colorado law and says the district will not collect students' or parents' place of birth, immigration or citizenship status except as needed to meet law or a federal judge's order, and that student records are shared only with written consent or as the law allows.

Why it matters to families

Families can see what information the school collects and what happens if immigration officials ask for records.

The evidence

The action memo says state law (C.R.S. 24-74.1-102) requires the policy, and the August 4 minutes record the 5-0 vote.
