Weather-safety policy adopted with athletics exception
What happened
The board adopted BP 5141.75 on weather safety for district physical activities, including heat, air-quality and ultraviolet exposure precautions. The policy excludes interscholastic athletics.
Why it matters to families
Families should distinguish the new general policy from the separate rules governing competitive school sports. The source does not establish a single universal cancellation threshold.
The evidence
The adopted policy addresses heat, air quality and ultraviolet exposure through monitoring and precautions such as hydration, shade and activity adjustments. Staff explicitly distinguished interscholastic sports from other district physical activities.
