Board considers $1.435 million adoption of new secondary course materials
What happened
The board is being asked to adopt new materials for middle-school math, science and social studies, plus high-school AP Statistics and grades 11–12 English language arts, for six years starting in 2026–27. The proposal names Desmos Math, Amplify Science, History Alive!, Math Medic and CSU’s ERWC curriculum.
Why it matters to families
If approved, students across the district’s middle and high schools would use these materials in several core subjects and courses beginning next school year; the six-year adoption represents a substantial instructional investment.
The evidence
The June 16, 2026 agenda item recommends adoption for six years beginning in 2026–27. Listed six-year costs: middle-school math $500,000, science $465,000, and social studies $143,000; AP Statistics $27,000; and grades 11–12 ELA $300,000, totaling $1.435 million. This is an agenda recommendation, not confirmation of a board vote.
