What happened

On June 9 the board gave second and final approval to Policy JS. In February the superintendent said a new cell phone policy was needed for the school year, and a sample was in the board packet.

Why it matters to families

A state law, House Bill 25-1135, told every school board to adopt a policy on student phone use by July 1, 2026. The rules decide when kids can have phones at school.

The evidence

The June 9 minutes list 'Approve 2nd and final Reading of Policy JS' passing 5-0. The February 10 minutes cite HB 25-1135 and a sample phone policy; the principal's June report says handbooks will be checked against 'the cell phone policy'. The minutes do not print the policy text.
