District news
2026-27 budget plans to spend about $517,000 more than it takes in

What happened
The district's 2026-27 working budget lists $3.58 million in general-fund revenue and $4.10 million in spending, a gap of $516,895. A one-time $164,070 health insurance surplus covers part of it, leaving about $352,825 to come from savings. State Foundation money in the plan drops from $1.44 million to $1.02 million.
Why it matters to families
A school cannot keep spending more than it receives. Using savings now leaves less cushion for later years, and it helps explain the staff cuts in the budget.
