What happened

In the January 21, 2026 annual utilization report, staff said they do not find it feasible to move forward with closing any school under board policy FCA. Under that policy, a school below 75% full triggers a closure review. Staff will keep tracking neighborhood enrollment in the under-used schools.

Why it matters to families

Enrollment is falling, so families at under-used schools may wonder about closures. For this year staff did not recommend any.

The evidence

The memo states staff does not find it feasible to move forward with any schools for closure per policy FCA/FCA-R and will continue to track resident populations.
