Board studying later start times; high school starts at 7:05 a.m.
What happened
Board members say the 7:05 a.m. high school start is among the earliest in the state. A later start would cost about $1 million a year in bus costs. It was left out of the 2026-27 budget. Members now want the 2027-28 budget built two ways, so a start-time vote could go on the ballot.
Why it matters to families
A later start would change the day for high school families and bus schedules. A Princeton plan and start-time presentation is planned for the fall of 2026.
The evidence
In the September 16, 2026 recording, members discuss adding start time as a proposition. The May 29, 2026 recording gives the 7:05 time and the $1 million cost. The Board Goals list a two-option 2027-28 budget.
