Foundation gives $100,000 for theater, arts and other projects

What happened

At an August 12, 2026 public hearing the board took up a $100,000 donation from the Oberkotter Foundation. It covers staff development ($10,000), principal discretion ($20,000), theater lighting and sound ($30,000), productions ($10,000), the art and music department ($10,000), the capital reserve ($10,000) and a storage garage ($10,000). The foundation also paid for the garage now being built (new $56,499 agreement approved in May).

Why it matters to families

The donation pays for arts and building projects the tight budget does not cover. The board has also listed an audit of past Oberkotter funds as an open item, because the money was not tracked separately in the past.
