What happened

The May 6 budget forum recorded declining in-district enrollment, with roughly 195 students attending other public districts, about 200 at charter schools and about 140 in special education placements, and nearly $17.5 million budgeted for out-of-district tuition. Residents at the July meeting were already naming schools they had heard might close.
