What happened

On November 5, 2025 the board voted 3-2 to adopt new middle and high school boundaries for 2026-27, when Deer Creek High School opened. The map moves the north line to U.S. Highway 40, the Wasatch Canal and Coyote Lane and keeps the Ivory Homes, Cove and upper Red Ledges areas together. Kim Dickerson, Cory Holmes and Jake Collett voted yes; Breanne Dedrickson and Brad Ehlert voted no.

Why it matters to families

These lines decide which middle and high school most students attend. Dedrickson said this map had the largest gap in free and reduced lunch rates between the schools, and several members said elementary boundaries need review next. Families can still apply for school choice.

The evidence

The approved minutes record the motion, the 3-2 roll call and the comments of 18 speakers.
