High school adds AI, finance and new maths courses
What happened
The School Committee unanimously approved the Westerly High School program of studies, the list of courses students may choose from. New offerings include AP Precalculus, Mathematical Modeling 1 and Advanced Mathematical Modeling, Pre-AP World History and Geography, AP Business with Personal Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Computer Essentials & Artificial Intelligence. The same vote deleted some courses and shelved others.

The course list decides what a student can actually take, so added and removed courses change the paths open to them. The committee re-ratified the vote on December 17 after a procedural question.
