District news
Voters will decide a $29.9 million school building bond on November 3
What happened
The board voted 5-0 to put a $29,900,000 school building bond on the November 3, 2026 ballot. The money would fix leaky roofs, old plumbing and sewer lines, and worn-out heating and air conditioning, and update classrooms and restrooms. Property owners would pay about $49 a year for every $100,000 their property is worth, raising about $1,600,000 a year. The measure needs 55% of votes to pass and is listed by Yolo County as Measure B.
Why it matters to families
This is the district's biggest money decision in years. The bond is larger than one whole year of the district's main state funding, and it is the district's plan for repairs after the board was told in February that its last bond, Measure W, would run out of construction money over the summer. If it fails, the repair list has no identified funding.
The evidence
The June 25, 2026 approved minutes record Resolution No. 1243-26 ordering the election, the unanimous 5-0 roll call, the two-thirds board vote requirement, and the $60 per $100,000 legal tax limit for a unified district. Yolo County's elections office lists the measure as Measure B with the $29,900,000 amount, the roughly $49 per $100,000 levy and the 55% threshold.
