Middle school kitchen finished and Waggoner gets new roof, heating and water fountains

What happened

Facilities staff reported what summer construction finished before the 2026-27 year started. The Winters Middle School kitchen addition is complete. At Waggoner Elementary, crews replaced the heating and air conditioning, repaired wood decay, replaced the administration building roof, added an emergency access connection to the parking lot and installed four new drinking fountains. The middle school blacktop got new asphalt.

Why it matters to families

These are the everyday things students notice: whether lunch is cooked on site, whether classrooms are cool, and whether there is water to drink. The kitchen and the Waggoner transitional kindergarten building had been tracked at board meetings through the whole school year, so this marks them finished.

The August 6, 2026 approved minutes list each completed summer project by name and site under the facilities update, including completion of the Winters Middle School kitchen addition, and set the next facilities master plan workshop for August 19, 2026.
