School construction project to break ground August 10, 2026
What happened
After a November 2025 special election the district called a referendum success, the board moved ahead with a school construction and renovation project. It hired Gertz Construction Services as construction manager, approved a schematic design budget (March 4), chose Bid Package 1 contractors (June 8), asked the city to vacate rights-of-way for Phase I, and set a groundbreaking for Monday, August 10, 2026.
Why it matters to families
This is the biggest building project for the district's schools in years. Construction will affect school sites during the next school years, and the bonds that pay for it are repaid through local property taxes.

Earlier minutes record the canvass of the November 4, 2025 special election (Nov. 10), the Series 2026A General Obligation bond sale (Jan. 21), and the Phase I right-of-way petition (May 20).
