Board sets maximum preliminary property tax levy for 2027
What happened
On September 16, 2026 the board voted 6-0 to levy the maximum amount allowed for taxes payable in 2027. The final levy and the Truth in Taxation hearing are set for December 16, 2026. Last year's certified levy was $1,819,635.96, including $559,820.51 for debt service.
Why it matters to families
The preliminary levy caps what local taxpayers can be charged for schools next year. Choosing the maximum keeps all options open while bond payments for the construction project begin. Residents can speak at the December 16 hearing.
