District moves to take, then buy, land for future school facilities
What happened
In February 2026 the board voted 7-0 to start condemnation (eminent domain) action for about 17 acres of parcel 06-003-0700. Talks on a land proposal for future facilities went on through the spring. On September 16, 2026 the board voted 5-1 to approve a land purchase agreement with the owners. It also approved a future transfer of land to the Breckenridge Port Authority.
