What happened

Final state ratings were lowered. The primary, elementary and middle schools are now 'approaching expectations,' and the high school fell from 'distinguished' to 'meets expectations.' Staff said the main reason was a federal flag for students with disabilities. All schools are still fully accredited.

Why it matters to families

In August staff had expected all schools to be on track and the high school to be distinguished. The new ratings point to gaps for students with disabilities that the division must address.

The evidence

At the October 14, 2026 meeting the director of instruction presented the final accountability ratings for each school and explained the students-with-disabilities identifier.
