District news
2026-27 calendar: 170 student days and an earlier start
What happened
The board adopted a 2026-27 calendar with 170 student days and fewer teacher workdays. School starts about a week earlier than in 2025-26, and teacher workdays are moved to the end of each grading period. Teachers' yearly pay does not change.
Why it matters to families
Families need to plan for an earlier first day. The district says teachers voted for the calendar and that it lines up with nearby districts.
The evidence
