What happened

On May 27, 2026 the board was asked to approve inflation increases for district-owned employee housing: a 1-bedroom to $1,540 a month from $1,500, a 2-bedroom to $2,000 from $1,950 and a 3-bedroom to $2,600 from $2,550. The district says rents stay at or below other local employee programs and HUD fair market rent. A November 11 work session looks at the housing committee's plan.

Why it matters to families

Housing is a key way a mountain district keeps teachers and staff. Higher rents affect employees who live in district units.

The evidence

May 27 agenda item 11.5 (action item) lists the old and new rents.
