Internet filtering policy update would extend to home use

Day-to-day

What happened

On October 13, 2026, the board held first readings of three updated policies: board compensation (paid quarterly), student discipline rules, and acceptable use of the internet and filtering software. The filtering update addresses providing filtered access even at home. A vote is expected in November.

Why it matters to families

Students take school Chromebooks home, so filtering rules affect what children can reach at home on school devices. Families can comment before the second reading.

The evidence

The October 13, 2026 meeting recording includes the first reading and the description of the changes. The policy texts are on BoardDocs, which we could not collect.
