Board discusses appointing trustees as three terms end

What happened

Three of the five trustees (Amber Niegel, Brandi Burnsed and Katherine Williams) have terms ending in November 2026. The Sept. 8, 2026 agenda included a discussion of the school board appointment process, and the Oct. 13 agenda has a 'board appointment update' and a decision on November meetings.

Why it matters to families

In small California districts, when too few candidates file, seats can be filled by appointment instead of on the ballot. Agendas do not say whether that happened here; check with Sutter County Elections or the district.
