Middle school phones stay in lockers all day
What happened
In June 2026 the board adopted a new phone policy (5136R) and in July a new rule for other personal electronics (5136.01). Under the 2026-27 handbook, Boone Grove Middle School students must keep phones, smartwatches and smart glasses powered off in their lockers all day, including lunch. A device seen or heard is taken to the office; after a third offense a parent must pick it up.
