Reeds Spring R-IV School District
Funding structure, how it compares to peers, and where major projects stand.

How are Reeds Spring schools paid for?
Reeds Spring R-IV serves the Table Rock Lake area of Stone County, Missouri. Unlike many Missouri districts that get most of their money from the state, about 78% of Reeds Spring's budget comes from local taxes, helped by resorts, commercial property and nightly rentals. That means state aid cuts hurt less, but changes to local property taxes hurt a lot. A seven-member elected board sets the budget and policies.
Local money
About 78% of revenue is local. The superintendent said 60-70% of the budget depends on residential property taxes.
State aid falling
The 2026-27 budget plans for about $530,000 less state aid and $200,000 less federal money.
Tax freeze risk
Senate Bill 3 would let the county freeze residential property taxes. County commissioners paused a vote and the law is in court.
Reserves
The district is paying for a new central office from its savings and says its reserve balance is strong.
Auditors gave the district a clean report in December 2025, and the 2026-27 budget was adopted as balanced. A freeze has not been adopted.
Where the district stands
Up $1,500 from $43,500.
