Board approves several 2026–27 staff reductions, including campus security and technology-support cuts

Admin hiring

What happened

The Board approved portions of the district’s 2026–27 staff-reduction plan, including a 1.0-FTE reduction in Campus Security Officers and a 1.0-FTE reduction in a Technology Integration Services teacher-on-special-assignment role. Other reduction sections were approved, amended, rejected, or left without a motion, so the minutes do not establish a single total for the approved cuts.

Why it matters to families

These staffing reductions will reduce district capacity in campus security and technology support, and the approved measures include additional positions whose identities are not specified in the minutes’ vote record.

The evidence

The March 3 minutes record approval of Resolution 3870, Section D, amended to only reduce 1.0 FTE for TOSA–Technology Integration Services. They also record approval of Resolution 3869, Section E, amended to only reduce 1.0 FTE for Campus Security Officers; several other sections passed, while others failed or lacked a motion.
