District news
District moves $2.24 million in local reserves before new state limits

What happened
On June 8, 2026, the board approved Budget Amendment #3, which moves the district's $2,240,306.69 'Pre-97' local cash balance before July 1, 2026. After that date, Senate File 081 bars school foundation program money from being moved or spent on major maintenance or capital projects.
Why it matters to families
The move keeps local money available for building projects after the state stops letting districts use school funding money for them.
The evidence
The June 8, 2026 Budget Amendment #3 memo explains the Pre-97 balance, the SF081 restriction effective July 1, 2026, and the requested amendment.
