District news
2026-27 budget of $80.4 million adopted under the new state funding rules

What happened
On July 13, 2026, the board adopted a 2026-27 budget of $80,412,417.79, up $7.91 million from $72.50 million in 2025-26. The general fund is $64.13 million. Under Senate File 0081, the 2026 state funding recalibration, much of the state's block grant became restricted categorical money, including an 'instructional silo' that can pay only certain salaries. Activities funding drops by $254,688. The budget gives all staff step and lane raises. Projected enrollment (ADM) is 3,330.42, down 24.459 from the year before.
Why it matters to families
The new state rules limit how the district can move money between programs. Families may see this most in school activities, where state funding fell while costs did not.
The evidence
The district's 2026-27 budget presentation gives the totals, the SF0081 changes, the activities cut and the ADM projection. The July 13, 2026 minutes record the unanimous adoption.
