What happened

On August 24, 2026 the superintendent told the board the district had been reclassified as a Rural District, with 4 of its 7 schools now classified as rural. She said this brings additional per-pupil funding through fiscal year 2032. The new finance director also said the district was closing out its fourth quarter and preparing for an audit through November.

Why it matters to families

Extra per-student money helps offset the shortfall that the district is covering with savings.

The evidence

Stated in the superintendent's report in the August 24 summary. The dollar amount is not in the collected records.
