Split vote adopts revised student mental-health policy

What happened
Trustees adopted BP 5141.5 on student mental health 3–2 on April 16. Members disagreed about how much referral and training detail the policy should include.
Why it matters to families
The policy guides district support for students. The full written text was not available in the permitted corpus, so the exact effect of each edit remains a gap.
The evidence
Anderson, Wiersma and Komrosky voted yes; Barham and Schwartz voted no. Anderson called the draft a simpler, attorney-reviewed version of model policy. Parent Sara Bell argued it removed useful detail. A request for a side-by-side third reading failed 2–3.
