Care Solace referral service renewed after split vote

What happened
The board renewed Care Solace 3–2 on September 8. The service helps families find mental-health providers; it does not provide therapy itself.
Why it matters to families
The old contract had expired August 31. Staff said services would end the next day without approval, so the vote kept referral help available.
The evidence
Komrosky, Barham and Schwartz voted yes; Anderson and Wiersma voted no, and the student trustee supported renewal. Staff described a negotiated cost of about $1 per student. Questions about privacy and health-billing terms remained for legal follow-up; the record does not establish unlawful billing.
