A tenure charge listed for action after closed session was never voted on in public

What happened

The closed-session resolution for the August 31, 2026 meeting listed four items for action: three settlements and the certification of tenure charges in the matter of A.M. On returning to public session the board voted on the three settlements in separate motions and adjourned; the tenure charge never reappears anywhere in the minutes. Certifying tenure charges is the step that sends a case against a tenured employee to the state, so the record leaves it unclear whether the board acted at all. The same minutes also omit public participation, the student representative update, committee chair comments, board member comments and new business, all of which the posted agenda scheduled.

Why it matters to families

Tenure charges decide whether a teacher or administrator keeps their job, and the public record of the meeting simply does not say what happened. The same set of minutes drops five agenda sections, including the public's own time to speak.
