What happened

The April 1, 2026 agenda proposed raising the certified teacher base pay to $50,000, a 3.3% increase, with steps allowed, and a 3.3% increase for classified, preschool and administrator pay. The cost listed is $105,950 for the certified base and $30,300 for steps. The board approved the 2026-27 budget on June 3.

Why it matters to families

Pay affects whether a small rural district can keep and hire teachers and staff. The collected record shows the proposal and the budget vote, not a separate vote on the salary schedule.

The evidence

April 1 agenda item 9A, 'FY 26-27 Salary Schedules', lists the increases and costs. June 3 minutes in the August packet record the 5-0 vote on the 2026-27 budget.
