District news
Board to decide on refinancing its school bonds

What happened
On October 7, 2026 the board was to hear from the district's financial adviser and choose a refunding option for its school bonds. The superintendent recommends approving a refunding when interest rates would save at least 3%. A bond report had also been on the March and April agendas.
Why it matters to families
Refunding replaces old bonds with cheaper ones and can lower what local taxpayers pay. It is a proposal in the agenda; no vote is recorded.
The evidence
October 7 agenda item 9A: 'Approve the refunding of bonds when interest rates show a savings of at least 3%.' A work session with the adviser (Piper Sandler) was set for the same evening.
