AUHSD adopts nondiscrimination-policy changes affecting parent communications

What happened
The Board approved revisions to its nondiscrimination and harassment policy and related regulation. The changes reflect new nondiscrimination requirements and update the regulation to ensure parents are not misled about a student’s gender presentation or identity.
Why it matters to families
The adopted rules affect how the district handles nondiscrimination and communicates with parents about a student’s gender presentation or identity; this advances a change previously listed only as proposed.
