What happened

The LCAP reports Brittan's suspension rate rose from 0% in 2024 to 3.9% in 2025, putting all students in the Red (lowest) level on the California Dashboard. Rates were higher for students with disabilities (5.3%).

Why it matters to families

Suspensions take students out of class. The district says it will expand behavior supports, counseling and trauma-informed practices to bring the rate down.

The evidence

The 2026-27 LCAP describes the 2025 suspension increase for all students and student groups and lists the planned responses under Action 2.2.
