What happened

Brittan's 2026-27 LCAP says students fell further behind state standards in 2025: reading went from 36.2 to 52.4 points below standard, and math from 46.5 to 53.8 points below. Low-income students dropped to the lowest (Red) level in reading, and the state placed the district in Differentiated Assistance, which means extra county help.

Why it matters to families

Scores dropped for most student groups. The school says it will focus on whole-class (Tier 1) teaching, use practice state tests, and roll out new math and writing materials.

The evidence

The adopted 2026-27 LCAP (county-approved September 21, 2026) reports the 2025 Dashboard results and the Differentiated Assistance identification for low-income students in reading and for suspensions.
