What happened

The committee voted 9-0 to adopt the state model PROTECT Act policy, which limits civil immigration enforcement on school grounds unless agents have a judge's warrant.

Why it matters to families

The policy is meant to help immigrant families feel safe sending children to school. Some speakers asked the district to go further, for example on buses and walks to school.

The evidence

Sept 14 minutes describe the policy and record a 9-0 roll-call vote.
