Board approves closing Aylesworth Elementary and new grade groupings
What happened
On June 22, 2026, the board approved a new school setup for 2026-27. Wallace Aylesworth Elementary is closed and will be torn down. The other seven elementary schools now teach kindergarten through 4th grade. Fegely Middle School became Fegely Intermediate for grades 5-6, and Willowcreek Middle School now has only grades 7-8.
Why it matters to families
Many families changed schools, bus routes and grade buildings this fall. Fifth graders now leave their elementary school a year earlier than before.
