What happened

On October 12, 2026, the board adopted the 2027 budget. The total property-tax levy is about $27.3 million, including about $15.8 million for the operations fund and $11.5 million for debt service, at a combined rate of about 94 cents per $100 of property value. At the September budget hearing, staff said state tax caps would cut about $3.5 million from the operations levy the district is allowed to collect.

Why it matters to families

The budget sets how much local property tax the schools collect and shows how state tax limits squeeze money for buildings and buses.

The evidence

In the October 12, 2026 recording, the budget resolution R15-2026 is read aloud with the fund levies and rates, and the board votes to adopt it.
