District asks for more aides as some students lash out
What happened
The superintendent asked the board to allow more educational technicians in regular classrooms because a few students have not adjusted to school routines and are becoming dysregulated, sometimes lashing out physically. Two students already have long-term substitutes covering them, and a third is likely.
Why it matters to families
Extra adults are meant to keep classmates and teachers safe and to calm or remove students before situations escalate. The October 7 agenda lists a vote to authorize the added positions, and the superintendent says savings on newer staff pay can cover the cost.
