District news
No room for some Pre-K students in Anson
What happened
The superintendent reported he signed 10 agreements letting Pre-K students transfer to neighboring districts, some because there is not enough space in Anson, and the 4-year-old program has had waiting lists. Next year the district must also serve 3-year-olds now served by Child Development Services, likely at Carrabec Community School.
Why it matters to families
Families who want Pre-K close to home may be turned away or sent to other districts. The board's restructure committee is studying where to find more classroom space starting in 2027-28.
