2026-27 budget only balances if 325 students enroll
What happened
On June 23, 2026 the board adopted a 2026-27 budget with $4.72 million in revenue and $4.71 million in spending, a $12,489 surplus. The business manager said a version built on 317 students did not balance, so he rebuilt it around 325 students. The school lost $493,185 in 2024-25 and $605,501 in 2025-26 (year-to-date actual).
Why it matters to families
A charter school is paid by the state for each student. If fewer than 325 students enroll, the school will likely have a third straight year of losses, which could mean cuts to staff or programs.
The evidence
The June 23, 2026 board packet's final budget worksheet lists net losses of $493,185 (2024-25) and $605,501 (2025-26 actual) and a 2026-27 budget 'at 325' with a $12,489 surplus. The June 23 minutes record the rebuild from 317 to 325 students and the vote to adopt.
