50 students left; fall enrollment fell to 317

High-risk

What happened

At the August 25, 2026 meeting the director reported 317 students enrolled. Fifty students left the school, 23 of them while moving from 5th to 6th grade, though new students filled some places. Families who left named transportation and communication as their main concerns. In spring the school had expected about 358, then 339.

Why it matters to families

The school is paid per student, and the adopted budget assumes 325 students. A drop to 317 means less money than planned, and the board is now studying exit surveys to learn why families leave.

The evidence

August 25, 2026 minutes, Administration Team Report: 'Enrollment – 317, 50 students left the school 23 of them in 5th going to 6th.' Earlier minutes give the spring projections (about 358 in April, 339 in May and June).
