Library policy restricts sexually explicit material

Curriculum

What happened

The revised library policy adopted June 16, 2026 says schools will not make sexually explicit material harmful to minors available to students; such material is to be removed or placed in an adults-only section. A revised form lets community members, including students, challenge a book.

Why it matters to families

Book challenges can lead to items being relocated to an adults-only section. The detailed procedure (652P) was not among the posted documents.

The evidence

Revised Policies #652 and #652F attached to the June 16, 2026 agenda.
