Graduation rules add civics test and future credits
What happened
Amended graduation requirements adopted September 15, 2026 keep a 52-credit district requirement, add a digital literacy credit for students graduating after January 1, 2028, a Future Readiness Project starting with the class of 2028, and a required civics test from 2027-28.
Why it matters to families
Current middle and high school students face new requirements. Unpaid school debts or unreturned property can hold up a diploma or transcript, though fees can be waived for need.
