Daily 60-second moment of silence in all grades

Day-to-day

What happened

Following a new state law, the board adopted a policy on June 16, 2026 requiring at least 60 seconds of silence each school day, when students may reflect, meditate or pray.

Why it matters to families

Teachers may not tell students what to reflect on; families are informed through the student handbooks.

The evidence

New Policy #645 attached to the June 16, 2026 agenda; April minutes note the state law takes effect July 1.
